I do not know if 6B is average or not, but this is how they are. They are divided into girls and boys with an inivislbe line down the middle of the room and people only cross that line when teachers make them. Girls are divided into real girls (Theresa Mullet) and imitations (Estelle Green). And me [Nan Pilgrim]. Boys are divided into real boys (Simon Silverson), brutes (Daniel Smith), and unreal boys (Nirupam Singh).

Nirupam is about thirteen years old, tall for his age, and lanky. He speaks English with the precision of someone foreign and very well-educated; there's still a trace of India in his accent, but for the most part, he sounds British.

He has a very strong personality when he puts his mind to it.
